Shutter speed

The 3 camera settings that comprise the Exposure Triangle are , ___F/5.6 , 1/4000 and iso 3200


On the back monitor of our Canon DSLR cameras, the aperture setting is displayed with “F” followed by a number.  



1/4000 at f5.6 iso 800 for the bursting water balloon

Apertures (from smallest openings to largest openings) are typically numbers f/25, f/22, f/20, f/18, f/16, f/14, f/13 ,f11,f/10,f/9.0,f/8.0,f/7.1 f/6.3,f/5.6,f/5.0,f/4.5,f/4.0






Iso 1000 f5.6 1/100










Expressed as fractions of a second, the shortest or highest shutter speed on our cameras are  1/4000seconds and the longest or slowest shutter speed is 30 seconds.



The third setting ISO controls the camera’s sensitivity to light.  f/11 1/30 iso 200


This setting goes from 100,200,300,400,800 ,1600,3200 on our cameras.


To center the meter on our cameras, we can change the aperture  , iso or the shutter speed.



Finally for the 4rd picture, we learned how to securely fasten a camera to a tripod to take a picture showing a ghost-like image.
